Two great events. The Jefferson Council is bringing true intellectual diversity and competing ideas to the Grounds of UVA.
Just like Jefferson envisioned long ago. I do note and I am grateful that in that Jeffersonian spirit of pursuing truth the TJC and Larry’s Center for Politics have teamed up to co-sponsor events. Although if you happened to attend Larry’s 50th celebration two weekends ago I sat there marveling at how a panel was presented to us to provide insight as to our nation’s “Road Ahead.” All six in unison parroting a monologue in favor of one presidential candidate while there was absolutely not one single thought or even a voice apparently allowed for the candidate who in current polls represents the majority of the American people. The most prominent panelist, being Chuck Todd, who amazingly admitted he did not know what a conservative is. And so to confirm I questioned him afterwards when he rushed up to get in line behind me at the men’s room. His eyes flashed wide in surprise at my question, which he confirmed and then sputtered into a long winded disjointed answer. Stunning.
These are strange times indeed at Mr. Jefferson’s University.
I am a bit surprised that Larry Sabato’s panel was not bipartisan. Larry leans left, but I don’t think he is as left as many think.
