The Jefferson Council, formed by University of Virginia alumni and other stakeholders, is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Thomas Jefferson, the Lawn, the Honor Code, and the free exchange of competing ideas and intellectual diversity one would expect from Mr. Jefferson’s university.
The Jefferson Council champions free speech at the University of Virginia. We welcome well-written columns, op-eds, and letters addressing issues affecting the UVa community for publication on this blog under the heading of the “TJC Forum.”
Send submissions to the editor to [email protected].
We also invite readers to participate in the forum by posting comments on articles and commentary. We love civil debate – even when people disagree with us! We do, however, ask everyone to address others respectfully. Insults, profanity and ad hominem attacks will be deleted.
It’s about time. I stopped giving to UVA law several years ago. However, it will be interesting to see if this movement will stop or even slow down the woke left democrats. Tyrants do not relinquish power easily.
I have stopped giving and am now revising my estate plans to exclude UVA completely. I have had enough. I wonder what is going through the minds of these alumni who contribute many millions of dollars? Do they not understand what is going on. or do they understand but just want their name on a building?
Let’s hope UVA becomes the “University where woke comes to die.”
